Christine Cares, Inc. is
a grassroots nonprofit organization with a volunteer staff working in Stoughton, Massachusetts and Arusha, Tanzania.
In Tanzania we spend our time witnessing
poverty first hand. We work side by side with our local coordinates in Tanzania to insure that the neediest are our
recipients. In 2009 we finished the building of St. Judas Thaddeus Catholic Church.
We are an international organization registered in Tanzania
and the USA.
We are currently
working with women in Tanzania who turn paper into beautiful necklaces, rosary beads and earrings. Another group of
women make beautiful hand beaded leather sandals and women who turn grass into woven baskets. We have a growing number of individuals painting beautiful and unique paper mache Christmas ornaments.
We market their crafts both in Tanzania
and in the United States to help many support their families. We look forward to continuing this work in Tanzania and increasing
the number of individuals served. We are helping many sustain a better today and tomorrow.
We are advocates of education and are raising funds to build a primary
school three classrooms at a time. The School of St. Nicholas is scheduled to begin construction soon in the village
of Olosiva in the Arusha region of Tanzania.
In this village there is no access to a primary education. The closest government school is overcrowded
1400 children with only twelve classrooms...there are no books, no pencils and often no teachers.
The School of St. Nicholas will provide 90 children in the first
year an education. We are fighting poverty through education
providing them with the tools they need to improve the lives of their families, villages and communities in the years to come.t
